Unlocking Motivation: Your Weekly Video Adventure Begins Here
From the high sea to the envelope of space
Happy Saturday, fellow adventurers! Today, we're embarking on a journey into the heart of motivation, and I've got an exciting announcement. I'm ramping up the video content for our Saturday editions of The Woz Report. let me share a glimpse into my quest for inspiration.
Ever felt like you're battling a stormy sea, miles away from shore? I've been there. And in those moments, I turned to tales of resilience, like Ellen MacArthur's solo sailing voyage or Pete Goss's epic challenges. Their stories remind us that even in the roughest waters, we can navigate our troubles. But the search for motivation isn't always smooth sailing. With millions of videos uploaded daily, finding the perfect clips can feel like wading through quick sand.
For my ESG Nerd newsletter, I posted five awesome environmental videos, two of which I had seen before. One of them sits pinned to my LinkedIn profile. Click the link below to see them.
For The Woz Report, I had my mind set on posting 5 motivational videos, but after a few hours of research, none of them resonated with me. I went back to the drawing board.
Wyzowl reports approximately 3.7 million YouTube videos are uploaded to YouTube every day. It’s going to take a whopping 9.36 billion minutes to watch them all. Another 2,500 videos have been uploaded in the time it’s taken to write this paragraph.
Finding motivation is uplifting
A few months ago, a colleague was having a crisis because their project wasn't going to plan, and I remember feeling like that a few days before. For some reason, I thought back to a video diary by Ellen MacArthur, and a book by Pete Goss, two sailors at the top of their sport.
In both cases, as their respective yachts began to list in the middle of a storm, the sailors were hundreds of miles away from land. Without mutual support, and both in danger, MacArthur and Goss had to manage induced stress levels, avoid falling overboard, and find a solution. The Drawing Board came good.
Endurance, in all its forms, captivates me. So, without further ado, here's a list of what fuels my motivation:
Extreme Sailing
High Altitude Climbing
Pro Cycling

Ropes! Who needs Ropes?
Does anyone dancing climbing up the 3,200ft El Capitan, in Yosemite National Park. Oh, and you have to do it without a rope. Insane!
Hello Earth, just jumping in from Space
